About Legacy Deck Co
Decks built for how you live and for Chicago weather
Who We Are
Legacy Deck Co is a deck builder serving homeowners and property owners across Chicago, IL. We design and build decks that fit the way people actually use their yards, rooftops and back porches, from simple platforms off a kitchen door to multi-level spaces for entertaining. Every project starts with a conversation about how you want to use the space, what materials suit your budget, and what the city will require before work begins. Then we build it carefully and keep you informed.
Our Story
Legacy Deck Co was built around a simple idea: a deck should be something a family enjoys for many seasons, not a project they worry about. Chicago is hard on outdoor structures. Freeze-thaw cycles move footings, heavy snow loads test framing, and humid summers wear down finishes. We plan for all of it, setting footings below the frost line, choosing fasteners and materials suited to the climate, and framing to meet code.
We also handle the paperwork that comes with building in the city. That means drawings, permit applications and inspections, so you are not left sorting it out on your own. Whether you want pressure-treated lumber, cedar or low-maintenance composite, we explain the trade-offs honestly and give you a written estimate before any work starts. Our goal is a deck you are glad you built.
